Financial support does not assure a students’ success in higher education. The value of family support and services to scholarship recipients is key.

The Philippine government has made a number of advancements within education over the last two decades, per the World Bank this entailed doubling government spending on basic education between 2005 and 2014. One of the most notable achievement was the passage of the Quality Tertiary Education Act signed in 2017. Our team had already been administering this program for seven years when this was passed, and we immediately integrated our model with the Act.

Only through these additional programmatic supports such as mentoring, counseling and networking events were the challenges scholarship students faced properly addressed.
